Club Sports Coordinator - Mike D'Archangelo
Now in his 5th year at UMBC, Mike D'Archangelo plays an intricate role in the day-to-day function and coordination of all behind-the-scenes activities for the Ice Hockey
team, as well as more than 20 other club sports at UMBC. Mike's role stretches from booking all team events and games, to helping recruits through the application process, and dealing with
all team funds and accounting. "Mike D" has been one of the defining factors in UMBC Ice Hockey's dramatic growth from a small club organization at UMBC, to one of the most succesful club teams
(both on and off the ice) at the University.
Originally from Annapolis, MD, Mike attended The University of Maryland College Park, where he played baseball for four seasons. He graduated with a degree in Sports Management, and is currently
pursuing his master's back at UMCP. He currently resides in Catonsville, MD.

Dan Goodwin - Recruiting Coordinator
Dan is entering his sixth season as the UMBC Recruitment Coordinator. He is responsible for publicizing and facilitating the recruiting process. Specifically, he
disperses team and university information, organizes player visit days and Recruit Weekends, and assists recruits throughout the admissions process. If you are an interested player or
coach with questions on the program, please contact Dan for more information.
Dan graduated from UMBC in 1998 and completed his Master's in Health Administration (MHA) in 2002. He currently works as the Administrator for Cardiology & Cardiovascular Surgery at Arnett Clinic and resides in Lafayette, IN.

Area Scout (PA Region) - Dr. Steve Hauser PhD
Steve's role has changed this year, as he has left the bench and can now be found in the stands. As our lead Pennsylvania-area Scout, Dr. Hauser returns to
the Retriever staff for his fourth season. After three succesful seasons as an Assistant Coach, Dr. Steve Hauser PhD has taken a new job as a chemical researcher in the Lafayette area,
forcing him to leave his coaching position, but was anxious to remain involved in the program as an area scout.
Originally from southeastern Pennsylvania, Steve began his playing career 20 years ago and ended his competitive play as UMBC's team captain and motivating force in 2002. Dr. Hauser is
certified by USA Hockey and has worked as an instructor in summer camps; additionally, he has expanded his knowledge of the game by attending various clinics.
Steve recently received his doctorate from UMBC in Organic Chemistry where he developed and synthesized potential anti-cancer compounds. He is now developing and synthesizing anti-HIV/AIDS
compounds, and resides near Lafayette, PA.

Returning to the UMBC program this season as Metro Area Scout, Jon Hittle was
Assistant Coach under Head Coach Sean Marsan during the 1999-2000 season as the UMBC
Hockey program made its upward transition to the highly competitive Mid-Atlantic
Collegiate Hockey Association. Jon's recruiting and program devlopment efforts
during that rebuilding season were responsible for bringing several talented Junior
and High School players to the UMBC campus who subsequently became stand-out
athletes at the ACHA Division II level. He has also worked as an independent scout,
spotting local prospects for various USHL teams. A native of Sioux City, Iowa, he
was a successful Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget and High School Coach for 12 years and he
holds an Advanced Coaching Certification from USA Hockey. He holds a Master's
Degree in Modern European History and Political Theory from LSU and has served as a
foreign affairs specialist for the federal government for 28 years. A veteran of
the U.S. Coast Guard, he was called to active duty and served in the Persian Gulf
during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He lives in Montgomery County,
Maryland.

Sean Marsan - Minnesota Regional Scout
UMBC is pleased to announce the return of former Retrievers Head Coach Sean Marsan to serve as Minnesota Regional Scout. Coach Marsan led the Retrievers during two successful seasons in the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Hockey Conference from 1997-1999. and he was instrumental in UMBC's decision to make the upward transition to the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA) beginning with the 1999-2000 season.
Sean played his junior hockey with the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League (USHL), where he was both Rookie of the Year and later Captain of the Muskies. Sean was also recipient ot the prestigious Curt Hammer Award, which recognizes the single player who best epitomizes the values and objectives of the USHL. He went on to play his NCAA hockey at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, helping the team to two National Championships and a runner-up finish during his college career. Sean continues to play hockey and runs a youth hockey clinic in the Twin Cities area. He works for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Sean, his wife, and their four children reside in Eden Praire.

Game Announcer/Staff Writer - Jeff Hemelt

Jeff returns for his fourth season as the official voice of the Retrievers Ice Hockey team. Welcoming the team onto the ice with a bellowing "Here are your U-M-B-C
Retrieverrrrrrrsssss!!!", the team welcomes him back to the scorer's box. Jeff provides the game announcements and score keeping for all UMBC Ice Hockey home games, in addition to writing the game recaps for the team. An avid fan of hockey and the UMBC Ice Hockey club, Jeff knows the game as well as any player.
Jeff Hemelt grew up in Parkville, MD, and is currently a Senior at UMBC, pursuing a degree in Business Technology Administration and a certificate in Communications and Media Studies. He looks to go into
web design and to continue announcing sporting events.
