Assistant Coach Paul Caron joined the UMBC program with an extensive hockey background.  Originally from Maine, he was a 5 time Maine State Festival Team member, attended the New England Festival Camps & USA Hockey Player Development Camp, and was a 4 year Varsity Letterman.  Coach Caron started his high school career at North Yarmouth Academy and finished at Milton Academy.  After Prep School he opted for Major Junior hockey and played with Laval Titan College Francais of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

Caron is a 10 year veteran Head Coach and Trainer for teams & players at the High School, Midget AAA, Junior B, Junior A, ACHA, NCAA, and Professional levels.  He is also an Assistant Coach with the Jr Flyers U18 team of the Tier 1 Elite League.  His focus at UMBC is with the defensive corps.
