Justin Marksamer returns to the coaching staff this season as the UMBC Goaltender Coach. Justin hails from Canton, CT where he grew up playing youth hockey. He continued his hockey career playing for the Jr. C Norwich Icebreakers, and then on to the Jr. B UMass Minutemen. In the fall of 1999 Justin started his Freshman season between the pipes for UMBC, where he started for four seasons. During his career, Justin became the all-time save leader for the Retrievers.
After graduating with a degree in Visual Arts, Imaging and Digital Arts, he joined the coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach. The following season, he became the team's full time goaltender coach. By 2006 Justin became an Assistant Coach, coaching both the goaltenders and defense. Justin has more than 20 years of ice hockey experience and is a USA Level 3 certified coach.
Justin works full time as a Web Developer and resides in Owings Mills, MD with his wife Milana.
