2008-09: Continued strong play for Retrievers. Followed up sophmore season with 23 goals, 19 assists and 33 penalty minutes. Used in all game situations. Selected to represent the MACHA in the All-Star Challenge.
2007-08: UMBC needed Freishtat to increase his role after graduating four of their top scorers. Justin had no problem moving into a leadership role with the team in his first full season. He was a top line forward and one of UMBC's leading scorers from the beginning of the season. Finished out the year with 30 games played, 49 points, 30, and 42 penalty minutes.
2006-07: Justin joined the team during the Spring semester and quickly fit into the rotation of forwards. He made his presence felt immediately with 12 games, 9 points, 2, and 14 penalty minutes in a short season.
Background: Played two seasons with the Washington Little Capitals Jr B program prior to enrolling at UMBC. Former Maryland Scholastic Hockey League (MSHL) All-Star, two-time Howard County All-Star and 2005 Howard County Player of the Year with River Hill high school. Good skater with deceptive speed and great acceleration.
