2008-09: Explosive forward with hard accurate shot. Moved into top lines from start of the season and finished second on the team in goals with 39 on the season. Had 6 short handed goals, 3rd highest total at UMBC in a season. Finished out the year with 30 games, 39 goals, 16 assists, and 4 penalty minutes. Received Crab Pot Tournament Game MVP award against U.S. Naval Academy DI for 2 goal effort. Selected to represent the MACHA at the All-Star Challenge.
Background: Played last season with the Stratford Cullitons Jr B program of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL), after turning down several US Junior A opportunities. Rob was the only U.S. born player rostered with the Cullitons last season and finished second in team scoring with 38 points in 47 games. Former Team Captain of the Central Penn Panthers Jr B team in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League (MJHL). Was a two-time MJHL All-Star and a league leading scorer. Reached his 100th point in his 61st career game with the Panthers. Received the MJHL League MVP award in 2007 and was a 1st Team All-League selection. Also, received The Washington Post 1st Team All-Met accolades while in high school with Southern. A true sharp-shooter that is dangerous from any place in the offensive zone.
