2008-09:
Set UMBC Goaltendending season record with 17 wins and moved into tie with Cody Niece for 1st overall in career wins at UMBC with 35. Career 90.01% save percentage leads all UMBC netminders. Finished Junior year with 17-7 record, 3.57 GAA, 89.97% GAA, and 1 shutout. Selected as MACHA All-star and ACHA Southeast 3rd Team All-Region.
2007-08:
Selected Team President. Followed up freshman performance with another strong season. Split starting duties with Senior Andrew Davis, and routinely energized team with great saves. Finished sophmore season with 7-5 record, 3.50 GAA, 90.00% save percentage and 2 shutouts.
2006-07:
Immediately moved into goaltender rotation as a freshman. Adapted quickly to collegiate game leading UMBC in wins with 11 on the season. Utilized in all situations. Had an 11-7 record, 3.41 GAA, 90.06% save percentage, and 1 shutout. Selected to the MACHA All-Star team.
Background:
PJ came to UMBC from Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, Ohio. In his senior year he had a 91% Save Percentage and 1.2 GAA – leading his team to their first ever Holy Cross Cup and an appearance in the District Finals of the Ohio State Championship. Prior to Gilmour, PJ was a standout in the DC area – playing with the Washington Little Capitals and Virginia Statesmen. PJ played in two USA Hockey Tier I National Championship tournaments, won the USA Hockey Tier I Southeast District Championship 4 times, was on the Southeast District All Star Team 4 times, and attended the USA Hockey National Player Development Camp. PJ also enjoys roller hockey – leading local teams to tournament championships and invitations to the National Championship. Despite interest from D-III collegiate teams, PJ came to UMBC to pursue his interest in Music Production. He is an avid guitar player and is pursuing a degree in music technology and music business administration.
Son of Mary Lou and Lloyd Carmack. PJ has 3 older brothers - all hockey players. Born July, 14 1988.
